NORTHWEST FLORIDA WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT Request for Proposals ("RFP") No. 21-001 Contractual Services – Algae Harvesting and Biomass Reuse for Sustainable Nutrient Reduction in Agricultural Runoff to the Gulf of Mexico The Northwest Florida Water Management District, 81 Water Management Drive, Havana, Florida 32333, is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) from qualified firms to provide contractual services to assist the District in Algae Harvesting
Fuel reduction unit treatment options are based on slope gradients which may limit some equipment types depending on the slope. It is the contractor's responsibility to determine which combination of treatments will be needed to meet contract specifications. Biomass removal is expected to be performed using standard timber harvesting methods.
The vessel/s used to harvest may be required to assist the department in assessing the distribution of the herring biomass on Kayak Island to determine where the largest concentrations are located. One or two department biologists may be on board during harvesting. Please see attached RFQ for more details.
