The Botswana Deputy Health Office Director fills a key management role. The Deputy Health Office Director supports the evolution of the health program and plays a key role in developing strategies and annual operational plans for the program.
The USPSC will serve as the Deputy Office Director and will assist the Health Office Director in the overall management and leadership in office operations. The incumbent will have significant decision-making ability and to the extent possible he/she will be given wide latitude in planning and executing agreed work assignments by the Office Director.

Secretary of Defense, (DASD), for Health Readiness Programs and Oversight (HRP&O), Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs (PDASD(HA)), Office of the Assistance Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs and subordinate Program Directorates identified by the contracting Officer.
The USPSC will serve as one of two Deputy Office Directors, and will assist the Health Office Director in the overall management and leadership in office operations, and will also oversee the Health Systems Strengthening, HIV/TB, Social Protection, and Strategic Information Divisions (totaling 24 staff), as well as one Administrative Assistant.
