Waterfall has been in use since the GRID Historian Hoover Pilot Project, back in 2015. RMSD intends to purchase additional Waterfall hardware and software licenses as the project needs arise. The Waterfall Unidirectional Gateway hardware allows for the unidirectional transmission of SCADA data through NERC-CIP mandated isolated SCADA boundaries without violating the requirement for non-routable protocol.
