The Department of Veterans Affairs, South Central VA Health Care Network intends to award a sole-source, firm fixed delivery order for the period of October 2018 through March 2019 to Roche Diagnostics, Corporation, 9115 Hague Road, Indianapolis, IN 46256 in accordance with FAR Subpart 8.405-6. This requirement is for HBV, HCV and HIV reagents, consumables and supplies for usage on Roche COBAS equipment currently on-site.
Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service (P&LMS) at the Dallas VA North Texas Health Care System (VANTHCS) will order reagents and supplies from The provider Diagnostics as needed to perform Hepatitis C , Hepatitis B, and HIV viral load testing on the Analyzer, which will be located in the P&LMS, Dallas VANTHCS.
In addition, the HIV Diagnostics and Reference Laboratory (HDRL) performs HCV Viral Load testing upon request and to assist in Diagnosis as HIV infected individuals can also be co-infected with HCV. The tests that will be performed are FDA cleared for performance on the Roche COBAS AmpliPrep/COBAS TaqMan 48 platform system. The HIV-1 VL test is the Roche COBAS AmpliPrep/COBAS TaqMan HIV-1 Test, v2.0.
This is a Brand Name Justification under the authority of FAR 8.405-6(a)(1)(B), Items Peculiar to One Manufacturer. Abbott Molecular is the only laboratory testing vendor that has the molecular testing for HCV Genotyping on the same platform with HCV, HIV and SARS Co-V-2. Any other brand is incompatible for use with this system.
