The north addition is approximately 6,900 SF and will house the County Emergency Operations Department. The south addition is approximately 5,300 SF and will house the County Recreation Department. The structure of the additions is loads-bearing CMU and light gauge metal stud trusses. The roofing is standing seam metal to match existing. The exterior veneer is masonry to match existing.

The County purchased this facility December 4, 2001, with the intent of renting the house out for office space or as a training site for County Departments. The house has been mostly vacant the past 20 years except for the occasional use by the Sheriff’s Office for training activities. The County is currently working with 4Creeks Architects on a design to repurpose this house into a working fire station.

Newaygo County requests sealed bids from qualified contractors for HVAC system improvements at the Newaygo County Administration Building, Newaygo County Court House, Newaygo County Sheriff Department, and Newaygo County Correctional Facility. All work, inspections, and permitting are to be completed no later than December 31, 2024, ideally. Required Site Walkthrough: Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 1:30 p.m.

The construction and remodel will be remodeling the existing 1100 Lakeview Drive building, approximately 50,000 square feet of office building, formerly housing North Central Health Care to house Marathon County Departments.
