Blast & preserve Hull Exterior. Blast and preserve all tanks. Hull corrosion weld repairs. Replace 2 Ea. main Caisson disconnects (600Amp). Replace all electrical panels and disconnects (lighting, heating, motor operators MX), consolidate replacement panels; NEMA 4X. Install new control panel (remote valve operation, TLIs, alarms). Replace access hatch with a dog house. Keel plate has heavy pitting and must be repaired.

This provides for reduced corrosion to hull and metal parts of the boat and motors, as well as reducing the amount of marine growth, to include invasive quagga mussels, from growing on and in parts of the boat. This reduces weight and drag, which saves fuel, and reduces risk of spreading exotic species to other areas in the event the boat is used elsewhere.
Once modified, W & D performed the installation of the composite platforms and will provide maintenance on the floating piers, including hull repair and corrosion control. The Navy anticipates the system will require periodic overhauls until the appropriate MILCON projects are approved to provide a permanent solution to the requirement.
