ORDER FOR ILLUMINA NGS REAGENTS TO PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC CONFIRMATORY SEQUENCING IN SLSS. Solicitation ID/Procurement Identifier: 1232SA20D0001 Ultimate Completion Date: Fri Oct 21 17:00:00 GMT 2022
The Illumina line of NGS instrumentation is a golden standard for advanced sequencing applications. We stride to deliver the the most up to date technologies to the University.
In order for DSU to continue its evaluation of NGS instruments, a maintenance contract for its existing Illumina NGS instruments is required. The contract will ensure the preventive maintenance needs, instrument failures, instrument upgrades, and other necessary items are addressed in a timely and cost-effective manner. This will in turn ensure that instrument testing can progress unhindered.
The DSU has been actively developing and optimizing workflows that require the use of Illumina NGS instruments, and three of these workflows are currently undergoing validation for use in the FBI's DNA casework. Given the near-term operational use of the Illumina NGS platform, the DSU has a need to purchase two additional MiSeq FGx instruments.
The objective of this task, NGS of sera and tissues, is to provide the FDA with a list of genes that are expressed following exposure to metal ions and particles. This collaboration between OSEL and DBCMS is supporting the development of new technologies in medical research in genetic studies.
