This provincial guideline will be used by Indigenous communities, diking authorities, local governments, consulting professionals and regulators to plan, design, and construct natural and nature-based (i.e., green) flood infrastructures and green-grey flood infrastructures.
The Standing Offer will have the following work streams, offerors may submit offer on one or multiple streams: (1) Climate change resiliency and infrastructure, (2) Greenhouse Gas (GHG) mitigation and infrastructure, (3) Integrated low-carbon resilience and infrastructure, (4) Indigenous lens on climate resilient infrastructure and low carbon approaches, and (5) Natural Infrastructure and Nature-based Solutions.
And moving into nature-based solutions and green infrastructure work such as habitat restoration, watershed and forest protection, carbon sequestration, and renewable energy.
a multi-disciplinary team of sustainable planning, design, and modeling experts to assess, plan, design, model, and/or conduct cost/benefit analyses on nature-based solutions, including low impact development (LID), green stormwater infrastructure (GSI), flood mitigation, stream restoration, green streets, conservation subdivisions, stormwater parks, roadway design, and/or other urban planning and design solutions that mitigate the impacts of stormwater
This work shall be executed by a contractor with the following qualifications: 1) landscape architect, 2) previous work with National Park Service (NPS) that combined landscape architecture techniques with nature-based solutions; 3) knowledge of how NPS evaluates resilience measures at historical sites and their relation to the regional landscape; and 4) ability to develop and visualize new forms of nature-based solutions in a collaborative team setting
Award will be made on a sole source basis to National Academy of Sciences (CAGE Code: 1D969).National Academies identified opportunities and means for advancing and mainstreaming natural infrastructure and nature-based solutions as a part of public and private engineering practice and released the findings to the public.
