Inmarsat L-TAC provides global, satellite-based, beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) communications utilizing the same tactical radios as UHF SATCOM. Through Inmarsat L-TAC, instead of connecting to a UHF antenna, the radios connect to an L-band antenna through a small frequency converter unit.
