This specification covers diesel fuel suitable for use in compression ignition internal combustion engines which includes trucks, heavy equipment, and stationary emergency diesel generators, located at ANL. The diesel fuel oil classification is to be grade number 2 and shall contain LESS THAN 0.5% SULFUR. The diesel fuel shall be clear hydrocarbon oil, free from suspended water, and free from sediment or suspended foreign matter.
Category 1: All engines, fuel, and propulsion type chassis and cabs: a. Internal Combustion Engine fuel types including but not limited to: Gasoline, Diesel, Propane Autogas, CNG, Biodiesel, or other alternative fuels for the following class chassis: i. Class 4; ii. Class 5; iii. Class 6; iv. Class 7; v. Class 8. b.
The total amount of funding under the RFP will be up to $400,000.MARAD understands there are different technologies and commercial aspects that need to be considered for this type of project such as the status of the target industries, the status of port infrastructure, availability of technologies and fuels (marine internal combustion engines, fuel cells, etc.), as well as application and operational constraints.
