Reference Laboratory Testing and Interpretation Services 2. Background. Reference and laboratory testing and interpretation services are required to support the Portland VA Medical Center. The Portland VA Path & Lab (PLMS) office utilizes the required lab testing and interpretation services in diagnosing and treating Veterans who are receiving medical care at the Portland VA Medical Center. 3. The Portland VA Medical Center intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Mayo Clinic Laboratories for reference laboratory testing and interpretation services. The estimated length of this contract will be one year with four one-year option periods.

Contractor shall perform required testing listed on the VISN 12 test menu within awarded Contractor s laboratory(ies) with minimal referral to external/outside laboratories. For any testing not performed in-house at Contractor s lab, Contractor referred tests shall only be sent to a laboratory meeting all CLIA-88 regulatory requirements.

EPVAHCS anticipates servicing approximately 60,000 specimens will be referred for testing in FY19. Performance Period: The period of performance for this contract is one base year, and four option years.

CLIA Compliance: The contractor must be licensed to perform laboratory testing under the Clinical Improvement Amendments (CLIA) of 1988 and perform testing in accordance with the CLIA regulations.
