The City of Emeryville (“City”) is seeking a qualified Civil Engineering Firm (“Consultant”) to provide project management, environmental analysis, Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E), and bidding phase support services for the 40th Street Transit-Only Lanes and Multimodal Enhancements Project (“Project”). The City invites proposals from qualified firms to provide services, as set forth in this Request for Proposals (“RFP”).

The Plan should place emphasis on managed lanes and transit on freeway elements. The outcome of the plan will include a list of priority corridors best suited to achieving these goals. These priority corridors will inform the phasing of Caltrans¿ Comprehensive Multimodal Corridor Plans. A contractor is needed to help coordinate and align these interagency planning efforts.

Segments 3 and 4 would create a continuous multiuse pathway between Telegraph Road and Gooding Avenue and would link to the Telegraph Road Multimodal Improvements, James/Bakerview roundabout and King Mtn Safe Route to School sidewalks and bike lanes. Considerations for fish passage in culverts, fiber infrastructure and future utility services through the corridor may also be included in the project scope.

This project will improve Sheridan Boulevard to a six-lane roadway by adding a south-bound lane from the U.S. 36 bridge to Turnpike Drive. The TIP is the Denver metropolitan area plan for fiscally-constrained transportation projects. Projects are selected every four years.
