Laser Powder Directed Energy Deposition (LP-DED) of GRCop-42 with a Green Laser

NASA/Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) has a requirement for a small-scale ultrasonic rePowder atomizer capable of converting small form factor solid refractory metal feedstock (bar, sheet, scrap, sponge, rod, foil, wire, piece metal) into spherical and near-fully dense powder in the powder size distribution (PSD) for Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF) and Laser Powder Directed Energy Deposition (LP-DED) additive manufacture (AM).

The machine is used regularly for the removal of Additively Manufactured (AM) parts built with Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF) and Directed Energy Deposition (DED) machines to conduct research in the metals-based additive manufacturing technologies for the purpose of developing and deploying advances in measurement sciences.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) requires a National Individual Standing Offer (NISO) for the provision of Laser aiming devises with accessories that will attach to the operator weapon platform to project a laser showing the user where his weapon is pointed. The period of the Standing Offer is from the date of issuance of the Standing Offer to three (3) years later, plus four (4) additional extension periods of one (1) year.
