Renovations as designed will adapt the building for use as a resource center for homeless citizens of the City of Chesapeake with included amenities such as foodservice, laundry, shower/restroom facilities and overnight shelter accommodations. The construction design and specifications for this project were informed by a diverse panel of stakeholders within the City of Chesapeake and the greater Hampton Roads Community.

Priority facilities for the near term include new residence halls, a new student\ncenter/wellness center, new nanoscience and biotechnology space, and new athletic facilities for track and\nfield and soccer.\n\nThe student body consists of more than 1,500 students from more than 42 states and 16 countries.
