This Invitation for Bid (IFB) is for a Firm-Fixed Price Contract for Chicago Lock Sector Gates Operating Machinery for US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) in accordance with the attached Scope of Work. The Contractor?
The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, and permits to seal, waterproof, and coat the interior of four (4) liftgate machinery pits at the Lockport Lock. The machinery pits are used to house cables, pulleys, hydraulic equipment to operate the lock?s gates. Due to cracks in the concrete, when the chamber is full, multiple leaks are present, allowing water to enter the pit.
The Government is canceling this solicitation and will solicit at a future date as there is reasonable basis to assume more competition will be obtained.This project will be a replacement of the mechanical drive system, excluding the motor (prime mover), used to operate the four (4) filling and emptying tainter valves on the MacArthur Lock.
Contractor shall be responsible for painting four (4) sets of culvert valve machinery, four (4) sets of gate operating machinery, one (1) set of tow haulage machinery, and four (4) floating mooring bitt recesses. Components to be included in the scope of work for the valve machinery will include all electro-mechanical components including covers, bases, safety guards, etc. within the machinery pit area.
NOTE: This solicitation will be posted in the Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE) on Tuesday, 8/2/2022.The work covered by this contract consists of furnishing all equipment, labor, materials, and performing all operations required to recoat the external surfaces of four (4) culvert valve machinery, four (4) miter gate operating machinery, one (1) tow haulage machinery, and four (4) floating mooring bitt recesses, as specified in
This Project’s primary purpose is for the first phase of lock construction - Gate and Operating Machinery Fabrication. Improvements to the existing lock or dam that do not directly contribute to the performance of the new lock are not included in this project.
