The expansion would be needed to provide the quantity of specified materials for upcoming expansion of the Bethel Airport runway and Lower Kuskokwim School District projects throughout the area. The applicant would continue to excavate up to 150,000 cubic yards of sandy material annually from the pit each year. This proposal would bring the existing sand pit into compliance with Clean Water Act Section 404.
The appropriation for the Kachemak Selo new K - 12 school construction (p. 3, lines 24 - 25) would be from unrestricted general fund receipts (p. 19, line 19). The appropriation for the Lower Kuskokwim School District , Bethel Regional High School central kitchen and multipurpose addition (p. 3, lines 26 - 30),would be from the regional educational attendance areas and small municipal district school fund (AS 14.11.030) (p. 19, line 20).
