Hull and Deck machinery systems include vehicle launch and recovery systems, specifically for rescue boats, mission boats, and unmanned underwater and surface vehicles. Additional machinery systems in support of the fleet mission capabilities include stern ramps, stern doors and gates, anchoring, mooring, towing systems, cranes, lift platforms, and platform lifts.

The United States Navy, Naval Facilities (NAVFAC) Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center (EXWC), Expeditionary Programs Office (ExPO), Sealift Software Support Activity (SSA) is the entity tasked with developing and supporting the software and hardware for the Improved Navy Lighterage (INLS) craft Machinery Control System (MCS).
The machinery control system was designed and installed by The GBS Group under contract number 1305M221PNMAN0353. To maintain the warranty, the OEM must complete all modifications and grooming. Throughout the duration of the warranty period, the OEM is maintaining the software coding and configuration control and controls all software and hardware changes to the system.
