The planned contract is for the overhaul of MTU marine diesel engines model 8V396 TE94 used on WPB 87' Costal Patrol Boats. A maximum of fourteen (14) engines will be overhauled per year.
The need for this overhaul contract is based on the age of these engines and the number of operating hours accumulated through their life span. Contractors having a MTU distributor agreement will provide MTU certified technicians using manufacturer proprietary data to perform the diesel engine overhauls.
The main engines are Caterpillar Model 3508 marine diesel engines. Both engines require a top end overhaul, to be performed in place/in frame on the M/V Harrison.Offers are encouraged to review all clauses that are incorporated into this solicitation.
The replacement engines (or long blocks) must be delivered not later than 28 February 2019.1. Provide determination of supplier's availability / capability to provide replacement REMAN engines and/or long blocks for the Detroit Diesel 8V71 marine diesel engines with the model numbers listed above.
