This Inertial Measuring Unit (IMU) is an electronic navigational device used to identify and report a vessel's location.  The IMU is a component of the AN/WSN-7, Inertial Navigation System.  This systems is accurate within 1 nautical mile in a 24 hour period.  The IMU is sole sourced to Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation, who is the design control authority for manufacturing this component and has the expertise needed to produce this part.
