The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) is requesting information on offsite storage for media and shredding services.This is a request for information (RFI) only - it does not constitute an Invitation for Bids (IFB), Request for Proposal (RFP), or Request for Quotes (RFQ).
Vehicle must be capable of shredding/ incinerating various materials: both printed and handwritten content from source materials including paper, photographs, fax, eFax, microfilm, microfiche, video, film, cassette tapes, CD/DVD, and flash drives ensuring that no information can be extracted from the resulting material in accordance with VA Directive 6371 including all appendices.
This clause expressly limits the contractor/subcontractor's rights to use data as described in Rights in Data- General, FAR 52.227-14(d) (1).VA information should not be co-mingled, if possible, with any other data on the contractors/subcontractor s information systems or media storage systems in order to ensure VA requirements related to data protection and media sanitization can be met.
Material can be shred on-site but the final shredding must be shred to a 1mm X 5mm size and shredded material must fit thru a filter with slots no larger than 1⁄4 .
The Contractor shall provide all supplies needed for initial usage of the storage bins/containers. Routine document destruction and shredding services shall include the service for, but is not limited to, the following: Common Areas Living Quarters Offices Patient Care Areas Contractor shall shred all paper and pill bottles before leaving the facility grounds.
After materials are completely shredded, material shall be destroyed by recycling.The contractor shall provide shredding services for destruction of media material such as floppy disks; tapes, micro-film; microfiche; microfilm; audio tapes; video tapes; cd's; DVD s; Mylar; stored data; disks & diskettes, and other similar items. At times, destruction of U.S. flags shall be required.
Background This is a Firm Fixed Price Services contract to shred and dispose of documents with personally identifiable information (PII) and other sensitive HIPAA related materials from the Veterans Benefits Administration, to include but not limited to papers, folders, media storage (floppy discs, compact discs, tape cassettes, and other recording tapes.)
