The CME Program staff in the Office of Clinical Research Training and Medical Education (OCRTME) work closely with continuing education Activity Directors and their staffs in all 27 NIH Institutes and Centers and the NIH Continuing Medical Education Committee (CMEC), which is composed of individuals representing a wide range of medical and scientific disciplines.

The new Medical Education building will replace Berryhill Hall with a new facility that would allow the Medical Education program to compete with top medical schools across the country. The project includes immersive learning for simulation, standardized patients, surgical training, and skills labs to meet the most current thinking about the increased need for inter-professional practice and education.
The UNC School of Medicine (SOM) new Medical Education Building (MEB) will replace Berryhill Hall which was built in 1970 and is past its prime not only in age but also in function. The new facility will be used by the SOM for instruction purposes and consist of Microbiology, Anatomy and Physiology labs, classrooms and auditoriums. The MEB six story facility is currently planned to be built in two phases.
