Metro Medical implants were chosen for these patients because this system prevents further damage to the joint and the end result of this procedure permits better function of the shoulder and upper extremity in order to improve the quality of life for a beneficiary with an active lifestyle. Failure to provide these supplies will result in diminished healthcare for the patient.
The VA intends to solicit and negotiate with Metro Medical Supply, 200 Cumberland Bend, Nashville, TN 37228 for a Patient Positioning System. The SPIDER2 Limb Positioner allows proper patient positioning for shoulder, knee and small joint arthroscopy. The CLE VAMC currently uses Smith and Nephew. This would provide for fit and function.
