These Milstar CONSCAN and antenna drive motors enable the antenna to lock on and track the Milstar satellite. Extreme tolerances and precision speed and feedback are required to ensure the antenna precisely tracks the satellite. Small out of tolerances variances could disable functionality of the antenna and the terminal would be MICAP.
E-6B MAS includes the Block I system Military Strategic Tactical and Relay (MILSTAR) satellite terminals, Very Low Frequency (VLF)/ High Frequency (HF)/ Ultra High Frequency (UHF) communications , Voice Over Satellite (VOSAT) and Digital Assigned Multiple Access (DAMA) systems, the High Power Transmit Set (HPTS) and Internet Protocol Bandwidth Expansion (IPBE) equipment, and Sustainment and Support System (SASS). 4.0: Eligibility The applicable
It is the war fighting backbone of the DoD Military Satellite Communications. Milstar is the primary means for Emergency Action Messages (EAM) traffic, Commander-in-Chief Networks (CINCNETs), and command and control of US military forces and used by Joint Services Commander's) in Chief (CINC) including, USSPACECOM, AFSPC, PACOM, CENTCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM, ACOM, EUCOM, SOUTHCOM, TRANSCOM, and STRATCOM.
The terminal is able to enter the communications system and provide command, control, and communications functions required to operate with the constellation of MILSTAR EHF communications satellites. The resultant contract will be issued under the Woman Owned Small Business Sole Source Program. The applicable PSC code is 5411. Be advised that the aforementioned information is anticipatory in nature and is not binding.
Satellite platform and payload state-of-health operations enabled by CCS-C include: launch, early-orbit, on-orbit, anomaly resolution, and disposal operations. Air Force satellite systems supported include Milstar, Defense Satellite Communications System (DSCS) III, Wideband Global Satcom (WGS), Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF), and future MILSATCOM satellite systems.
