The purpose of this solicitation is to enter into an agreement with a qualified, knowledgeable, and skilled company to provide private utility locating services, in accordance with Miss Utility of Maryland and all laws governing the locating and marking of underground facilities
For emergency notification, miss utility notifies owner (operator) to complete marking (scoping or locating) of their subsurface utilities within three (3) hours of notification same day service. Miss utility will trace record of scoping for all member utilities through their positive response system.
Work involves but is not limited to receiving all Miss Utility calls (tickets) issued to MC, searching records maintained by the County to determine the presence and location of the existing utilities, and demarcation/re-demarcation in the field per the provisions, standards and specifications of Maryland Underground Facilities Damage Prevention Law, commonly known as the Miss Utility Law.
We have internal mapping of those utilities and most of the time we use in house personnel for that information, but Miss Utility does also have that, we don't have 911 addresses that they recognize, so we need to use lat and long coordinates to request Miss Utility to inspect an area. 4)What is the preferred way to mark the pathway for the cable plow? or other items? Regular ground surface paint marking is acceptable.
