Work covered in this scope includes: To upgrade the building envelope, modify interior lighting, and upgrade the HVAC systems of the five buildings at 291st CBCS, Hilo. The buildings included are 701, 702, 703, 704, and 705. Specifically required is to replace all existing jalousie louvered windows with energy efficient, double pane windows that meet AT/FP requirements and upgrading exterior doors to insulated doors.
This project will modify existing interior and exterior materials, including brick, stucco, doors, windows, and lighting. The existing atrium will be demolished and converted to exterior space. Interior décor, seating, and finishes shall be replaced in customer areas. Drive thru signage will be replaced with new. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing distribution shall be modified to support new design elements.

The project will modify the building interior to include entrances, exclusive/common maintenance administrative space, classroom/break room, latrines, battery room, fluid distribution room, tool/parts storage, hazardous and controlled waste storage, increased electrical capacity, and other modifications to improve functional efficiency. New systems furniture will be installed in maintenance administrative office areas and classroom/break room.
Modify the building interior to accommodate the new shaft and openings into existing spaces and to provide an elevator machine room. Provide electrical and plumbing rough-in for future accessible lavatory. Add alternates include modifications to existing spaces to provide areas of refuge and accessibility improvements to existing doorways. The budget for this project is $400,000.00.
