The planned contract is for the overhaul of MTU marine diesel engines model 8V396 TE94 used on WPB 87' Costal Patrol Boats. A maximum of fourteen (14) engines will be overhauled per year.
Contractors having a MTU distributor agreement will provide MTU certified technicians using manufacturer proprietary data to perform the diesel engine overhauls.

Engines shall be delivered to Kitsap Transit’s receiving facility located in Bremerton Washington. Engines shall be free of liens and all factory warranties shall apply and be transferred to Kitsap Transit upon delivery.
The United States Coast Guard (USCG), Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC), Small Boat Product Line (SBPL), has a requirement on a brand name (OEM: MTU America, Inc.) only basis for the remanufacture of MTU Detroit Diesel 60 Series marine engines and the attached Twin Disc 5114 reduction gear currently used on the 45’ Response Boat Medium (RBM).
