The Laboratory Branch owns a Microfluidics MinION sequencer by Oxford Nanopore Technologies. The corresponding Microfluidics DNA library prep system, Vortax, is required to generate suitable DNA libraries for the sequencer. The Voltrax system is capable of processing microfluidic chips for preparation of Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) libraries suitable for whole genome sequencing on MinION next generation sequencers.
There are other vendors that supply instruments that can do Next Generation Sequencing; however, these other instruments do not have the ability to do both human genome and exome sequencing using SBS technology with the requirements listed above in the description. There are several vendors that offer next generation sequencing instruments including Thermo Fisher Scientific, Oxford Nanopore, MGI and PacBio.
System shall provide capability for whole genome, whole transcriptome sequencing, and targeted sequencing applications.System shall be optimized and qualified in collaboration with Illumina, New England Biolabs and Roche KAPA to support Next Generation Sequencing procedures.System shall be optimized to support sample prep method for Oxford Nanopore DNA whole genome sequencing, and RNA targeted sequencing.System shall be configured with 1-16 tips
