The Advisor plays a prominent role, along with key national and expatriate staff, within the network of national, internal, and external partners related to the technical area of OVC and HIV & AIDS prevention activities for all sub-populations.
The incumbent participates in the development of national strategies, guidelines, operational procedures and manuals, educational materials, teaching modules, etc. for implementing HIV/AIDS prevention activities and for incorporating new HIV/AIDS prevention interventions into the national strategy.
The Government of Botswana (GOB) has made a commitment to achieving the goal of “Zero New Infections by 2016” and the Prevention Advisor will be charged with assisting the GOB in reaching the goals set out in the “National Operational Plan for Scaling up HIV Prevention in Botswana”.
