Crescenz VA Medical Center (CMC VAMC) requires a vendor licensed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to provide the radiopharmaceutical NETSPOT and calibration sources for the Nuclear Medicine Service. This radiopharmaceutical is required for imaging procedures. The Calibration sources are required for equipment quality control testing. This product is a patented drug kit for the preparation of gallium Ga 68 dotatate for injection.

There will only be three time slots for the production of NETSPOT per day in Seattle, WA. The Nuclear Medicine technologist will reserve a time slot in advance and place an order with awarded vendor Nuclear Pharmacy for the radiopharmaceutical. A radioactive calibration date and time needs to be established. The radioactive drug is very short lived and good only for the date of calibration.

Quality Control shall be performed on each agent dispensed. Complete documentation of QC results will be provided upon request. All radiopharmaceuticals shall be calibrated and labeled with concentration, time, total volume, and total activity. Consultation service regarding radiopharmaceutical applications, problems, controls, shall be provided upon request at no charge.

All routine deliveries of radiopharmaceuticals shall be delivered one hour before calibration time. All as ordered deliveries of radiopharmaceuticals, ordered by 4:30 pm the previous day, shall be at the VA facility 30 minutes prior to calibration. No deliveries of unit doses except by the courier of the supplier. All couriers must wear a picture ID that is clearly visible while making deliveries of radiopharmaceuticals.
