Ahtna requested that the NOV be reclassified as a compliance letter. That request for reclassification was denied by the Division.

The Town desires a contractor to supply abatement services for properties which fail to be brought into compliance by the property owner after a notice of violation and order for correction/abatement is issued. The selected contractor will be responsible for mowing/bushhogging, vegetation removal, trash, junk and debris removal, or other abatement services as identified by the Planning and Inspections Department.

The proposed changes robustly update Article 8 by repealing outdated sections and replacing them with sections regarding powers and duties, verbal warnings, inspection reports advisory notices, and notice of violations, issuing a violation and due process, probation, suspension or revocation of a license, informal conferences.
