The Town needs to purchase nutrient credits to address compliance with the water quality technical criteria and to address a Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) requirement.

The Town needs to purchase nutrient credits to address compliance with the water quality technical criteria and to address a Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) requirement.

All nutrients shall be priced individually, per Nutrient Bank. The City intends to award multiple contracts to form a contractor pool to purchase from for future Nutrient Credit needs.

The City anticipates the need to purchase permanent nutrient credits that have been certified pursuant to VA Code § 62.1-44.19:14, for point source credits or pursuant to VA Code § 62.1-44.19:20 for nonpoint source credits (herein “nutrient credits”) within the Potomac/Shenandoah River Basin (6th Level Units (VAHU6); PL01 – PL74 (Lower Potomac River), PU01 – PU22 (Upper Potomac River), or PS01 – PS87 (Potomac River – Shenandoah River).
