The maritime workforce is one of the highest gap occupations-based on state specific projected offshore wind employment needs. The Authority is considering developing grant or other types of programs to bridge the workforce gap, expand maritime training in New Jersey and support offshore wind workforce development initiatives to address the talent needs of offshore wind maritime operations.

Recognizing the importance of the offshore wind supply chain to achieving New York’s Climate Act goal of development 9,000 megawatts (MW) of offshore wind by 2035, New York State has allotted $500 million to NYSERDA for offshore wind supply chain investments through the 2022 New York State Budget.
