The Department of Veterans Affairs has an ongoing program to provide Optician Services to veterans. The awarded contract will contain one base period of 1 year with 4 one-year options to extend. Two Opticians are needed at the Alexandria VA, one Optician at the Lafayette CBCO and one Optician at the Lake Charles CBOC. Four Opticians are needed total.
THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE, COMMUNITY, AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, DIVISION OF CORPORATIONS, BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL LICENSING, HEREBY ANNOUNCES THE FORTHCOMING MEETING:The division is holding a public meeting for the purpose of evaluating a proposal for optician education pursuant to 12 AAC 30.075.
Statement of Procurement Purpose The State intends to secure a contract for development and administration of a statewide practical examination for qualified dispensing opticians. The practical examination shall reflect current State standards found at State Rules of Tennessee Board of Dispensing Opticians (Chapter 0480-01-.08). Currently, there are approximately 925 licensed dispensing opticians in Tennessee.
