The new facility will be used by the SOM for instruction purposes and consist of Microbiology, Anatomy and Physiology labs, classrooms and auditoriums. The MEB six story facility is currently planned to be built in two phases. Phase 1 construction (58,500 gsf) will contain and provide most of the building MEP systems including the main mechanical and electrical rooms.

This requirement is to support high altitude physiology research that requires a facility for high altitude (>3000 meters above sea level) research laboratory and quarters. Site needs to be reachable in <12 hours of travel for test participants departing from sea level research site (Natick, MA or other eastern US military training site.) Housing must be available for up to 15 volunteers and up to 5 staff at a time.
