The purpose of the work is to provide a system that allows wheelchair access to the lowest part of the bottom floor of the facility from the paved area on the west side of the building. It will require replacing a window with a door which will lead to an enclosed platform lift inside the building. A ramp, meeting ADA regulations, is required on the outside of the building to access the door.

Iowa Memorial Union Parking Ramp - Upgrades to Public Spaces Project #: 0706701    Scope: This project consists of esthetic upgrades to the stairs and elevator lobbies at the IMU Parking Ramp, including replacing the ADA platform lift.

The industrial platform lift, drive-on/back-off type system shall be factory assembled, bolted, galvanized coated, metal alloy, structural steel, welded construction complete with runway ramps, runway stops, and safety rails. The platform lift shall becomplete with runway legs, two (2), legs per runway, four (4) legs per lift system.
