This is a Special Notice Award for FAR Part 8(a) Sole Source Award to Fairbanks Morse, LLC for the production of annual maintenance and spare parts. The parts are for USCGC Polar Star's Main Diesel Engines that were produced by ALCO Diesel Engines. ALCO has shutdown operations as a company and Fairbanks Morse is the only known source of supply for all ALCO components. All parts are IAW USCG TP 4650.
Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center, has a requirement for qualified sources for the purchase of various ALCO 251 Engine Parts Kits used on the USCGC POLAR STAR. All parts acquired must be genuine parts from the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).
