Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) proposes to perform maintenance dredging of portions of the New York and New Jersey Harbor, Port Jersey Channel, Federal Navigation Project located in Hudson County, New Jersey. The dredged material would be placed at the Historic Area Remediation Site (HARS), approximately 5 miles east of Sandy Hook, New Jersey.
All sampling would be performed within the Port of New York & New Jersey, all Federal Navigation Channels within New York District, the length of the Hudson River, in the Atlantic Ocean at the Historical Area Remediation Site (HARS) and its Mud Dump Reference Site.THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES and no solicitation will be issued; however, any small-business firm that believes it can meet the requirement may give written notification
Demonstrated knowledge of the detailed geology (Stratigraphy and Petrology) of the New York Metropolitan Area with specific emphasis on the sediments and rocks that occur along the navigation channels in the Port of New York and New Jersey. Ability to accurately log (SPT) and classify soils using the Unified Soil Classification in association with the Burmister method to quantify minor components.
