A 1.7 Programmer/Analyst Project Description :The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has led extensive prevention and preparedness activities to manage African Swine Fever (ASF). A number of mitigation measures are currently in place however, a residual risk was identified from pathways with a high level of uncertainty, such as travelers inadvertently and illegally carrying pork products into Canada.
These teams are involved in incident management activities to include the prevention of, preparedness for, response to, and recovery from terrorism, major natural disasters, and other major emergencies. Depending on the type and magnitude of the emergency, additional NIOSH employees not currently on the team may be called to respond to an emergency.
