This prospectus is being issued to solicit applications for a concession restaurant and commercial recreation rental service special use permit. A permit or permits to provide high-quality public service in the operation and maintenance of government-owned recreation facilities located on the Medford-Park Falls Ranger District, Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, will be issued.

The National Park Service (NPS) is issuing a concessions prospectus on Thursday, August 5, 2021, for a 10-year concession contract for the operation of passenger ferry service between the South Shore of Long Island and Sailors Haven Marina within Fire Island National Seashore. 

The prospectus will allow interested proponents the opportunity to propose additional services such as firewood sales, boat, bicycle or camping equipment rentals, to make visiting the PSI a more fulfilling experience for visitors as well as an economically viable operation for the permittee(s).The prospectus and associated documents can be found at:

Fifteen (15) developed recreation sites are included in this prospectus with concession operations starting in the 2019 use season.  The new permit will be issued for fiver years and may be extended up to an additional five years.  The Cover Letter, with more informatin will be posted at a later date.

This Prospectus describes in general terms the existing business operations and the future business opportunities for services required. A map showing each of the guide use areas can be found in Exhibit G of the Draft Concession Contract, CC-WRSTxxx-23 (Draft Contract).  A proposal must identify the specific guide area(s) to which it applies. An offeror may apply for more than one guide area. 

Some operations may be seasonal in nature while others may serve year-round business demands. There may also be other appropriate facilities and activities that Offerors may suggest as a part of their unique proposals.

The prospectus will be open to prospective applicants on June 13, 2022.The prospectus offers two developed recreation sites for concession operations: Lake Glendale Recreation Area and Redbud Campground. Both campgrounds are located on the Hidden Springs Ranger District of the Shawnee National Forest, approximately 25 miles south of Harrisburg, IL.
