The contractor shall perform R&D of EO/IR ship signatures, missile simulators, and other electronic warfare (EW) technologies and concepts for protection of US Navy and Marine Corps platforms (surface, subsurface, aircraft, & ground vehicles). This work encompasses the entirety of an EO/IR threat, from detection through successful countermeasure (CM) to the CM effectiveness assessment (CMEA).

The operational requirements for the boat are to provide Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection patrols for US Navy Installations, which include patrol, interrogation of other waterborne assets and escorting large vessels in and out of port in various weather and water conditions, throughout the year, day and night.
