Potential sources must possess the ability to provide engineering studies for the AN/AAS-54 EO/IR system in resolving reliability and maintainability issues, obsolete parts issues, identify and propose solutions to Diminishing Manufacturing Sources (DMS) issues, analyzing failure trends from the depots and the field level shops support.
-----------AFWERX Challenge: Enabling Technologies for Reverse Engineering & Additive/Agile ManufacturingThe USAF aspires to develop a full solution to reverse engineer obsolete legacy parts using the latest technologies in additive and agile manufacturing.
Hardware: Develop hardware solutions and deliver prototype solutions to the Government. This includes: Addressing obsolete parts. Latent defects discovered in fielded systems. 2. Support of Government tests to validate SW and HW changes. This includes Field Service Representative(s) support at Government test sites. Providing any contractor test data. 3.
Designs involves numerous part drawings and assembly drawings. The contractor shall perform thermal and mechanical stress analysis for new and existing designs and identify potential obsolete parts issues prior to occurrence and provide recommended solutions.
The Contractor shall create concepts, engineering models, prototypes, surrogates of production units and integrate into ranges capabilities, combat training systems and readiness.7. New Capabilities Production and Fielding. The contractor shall develop and produce product updates or new capabilities and solutions as required to fill aircrew and ship-board training needs.8. FURY User Group/Program Events & Support.
Other deliverables include system improvement and demonstration products associated with SCS integrated upgrades such as proposed prototypes, pre-production products, and support equipment enhancements, or simulations and models of weapon systems. System improvements will also provide obsolete type of parts replacements, improved processors, and technology demonstrations.
