The Army Contracting Command - Redstone, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama 35898, on behalf of the Precision Fires Rocket and Missile Systems (PFRMS) Project Office, Program Executive Office Missiles and Space, hereby issues the following Sources Sought/Request for Information (RFI) to ascertain the level of interest of potential vendors desiring to contract for the development and production of a new Reduced Range Practice Rocket (RRPR).

The Army Contracting Command – Redstone Arsenal hereby issue the following Solicitation/Request for Proposal notice for the procurement of Inert Warheads for the Low Cost Reduced Range Practice Rocket, M28A2 in support of the United States Army Field Artillery training needs.BACKGROUND:The United States (US) Army Field Artillery community has identified a training need for the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) practice rockets. The RRPR M28A2 is a cost-effective solution to that need. An inert warhead is mated to the same rocket motor assembly used on the M26 Tactical Rocket to provide MLRS batteries an opportunity to train with a rocket pod that has the same properties as the tactical pod and to experience the same effects...

The US Government is seeking sources to manufacture inert warhead for the Reduced Range Practice Rocket (RRPR) M28A2. This procurement will have an estimated quantity of a minimum 132 per year and estimated maximum quantity of 6,708 per year over a five-year ordering period.  The contractor shall not begin production until receipt of a delivery order.
