This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a one-time inspection/minor repair of aircraft sun shades in accordance with the Statement of Work and Inspection Checklist. See attachments.
Requirement: Aircraft Sun Shades Inspection, Mx, and RepairAward Type: Section 8(a) Sole-SourceAuthority for use of other than full and open competition: 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(5)/(k) and 15 U.S.C. 637Authorized by Statue.
The objective is to maintain safe and reliable aircraft sun shades. Service provider shall sustain aircraft shades through scheduled inspections, preventative maintenance, and repair of deficiencies.
To provide preventative maintenance on seven aircraft sun shade/canopies. To inspect and/or perform repairs on F-5 outdoor Sun Shade/canopy shelters. Services are to include repairing/replacing the damaged End Flap Cable on two canopies.
The Department provides coastal search and rescue\noperations with this aircraft and immediate repair was necessary for the aircraft to be available for\nservice. The selected vendor is a licensed and qualified aircraft mechanic capable and willing to\ncomplete the necessary work.
The Maine Forest Service operates aircrafts for fighting fires and GSA allows us to get certain aircraft parts and equipment in bulk amounts at lower prices than other resources, and are the only place that can offer these type of services needed. 2. Provide a brief justification for the selected vendor to supplement the response in Part II. Reference the RFP number, if applicable.
