Business and property owners can receive grants to restore / renovate commercial storefronts and replace deteriorated or poor-quality commercial signs and awnings. Updated and attractive storefronts are an important part of the success of retail and commercial districts. Renovated facades can stabilize property values and leverage new investment in the business as well as the surrounding neighborhood.
Such design consultations with property owners will range from assistance in selecting exterior paint colors and compatible sign design to recommendations on entire storefront design and rehabilitation. The Contractor shall also provide general technical assistance on proper building rehabilitation techniques consistent with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation.
