This RFQ is for the Lower Dungeness River Floodplain Restoration & Levee/Road Realignment Project – Phase 3 2024 Construction contract.
The proposed project will model and estimate the potential floodplain storage, changes in the hydrograph, and potential vegetative responses to the reconnection of the floodplain in the Sprague River Basin. Reconnection of the Sprague River floodplain is important for the Tribes because it restores natural ecosystem functions supporting tribal trust resources.
Lane County is requesting a hydraulic analysis of Blue River in the vicinity of the Blue River unincorporated community to determine if the Base Flood Elevation (BFE) in the FEMA mapped Zone A floodplain along Blue River should be lowered through a Letter of Map Amendment (LOMA). This proposed active floodplain restoration project is located at the 2.4-acre, town-owned parcel at the end of River Road West, Johnson, VT. This property, VT Route 15, and the Village of Johnson are highly susceptible to flooding. This river/road conflict area is a key location identified for floodplain restoration in the 2019 Lamoille River Flood Model.
