The Citywide Pedestrian Crossing Improvement Project is funded under Cycle 10 of the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP). The project consists in general of the following: Installing concrete curbs, gutters, curb ramps, roadway signs, pedestrian activated beacons, striping and pavement markings.
Seventeen (17) signalized intersections were identified as needing safety improvements as outlined in Attachment A.The Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) is the source of funding for this initiative. Proposals are encouraged from qualified consulting firms with experience delivering HSIP grant-funded projects and familiarity with Caltrans project development standards.
