PATTERN FOR SAND CASTING MOLD

Each assembly consists of twenty-six steel castings. Castings weigh between 300 and 500 lbs. Casting lengths vary from 60 inches to 83 inches. The casting cross-section (approximately 2.5 inches by 13 inches) is constant along the length of all castings, curvature and twist varies. The castings are 8620 alloy steel, poured into green sand molds. Government furnished wooden patterns are used to create the sand molds.
