The Connecticut Department of Education is making funds available to Priority School Districts to provide extended school hours for academic enrichment, support and recreation programs during non-school hours, pursuant to Sections 2 and 3 of Public Act 94-6 of the Connecticut General Statutes.

A program must serve at least 25 regular attendees. ● Regular attendees are those attending 15 or more hours per academic year. How many hours and days of service are required? Programs must operate for a minimum of 8 hours a week for 30 weeks, providing an additional 240 hours of instruction (equivalent to approximately 34 extra days of school per academic year). Can the program offer services in the summer? Yes, but it is not required.
