This project will involve evacuating the refrigerant (R-22) from approximately 300 residential HVAC compressors units.  The units are presently stacked in shipping containers, and will require removing each unit, evacuating and transferring the refrigerant to holding bottles, and placing the units in scrap metal containers.  The work site is located in the Hunley Park housing area off of Dorchester Rd.

The equipment includes: (3) chillers, (2) packaged roof top units, (1) steel boiler DA tank, (7) storage buildings, and (3) smoke shacks.

All hazardous waste has been removed from the a/c items; however the awardee shall be responsible for appropriate handling of said items. Refrigerators may still contain refrigerant.
