The new construction shared use path has a total length of 2,932 linear feet (0.56 miles).

The Three Notched Trail Shared Use Path will be a bicycle and pedestrian facility that connects the City of Charlottesville, through western Albemarle County and the Crozet development area, to Nelson County, where it would eventually meet up with the popular Blue Ridge Tunnel Trail.
